National Eye Donation Awareness Rally

As part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight (25.08.2025 – 08.09.2025), the Thoothukudi Government Medical College Hospital and the District Blindness Control Society organized an awareness rally to highlight the importance of eye donation.

The rally was flagged off under the leadership of District Collector and Officials, along with the support of the National Health Mission. Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers actively participated in the event, spreading the message that donating eyes after death can restore vision and transform lives.

The campaign emphasized the slogan:
“Let’s pledge to donate eyes – A gift of vision for someone in need.”

Such initiatives play a vital role in reducing avoidable blindness and encouraging citizens to come forward for eye donation.
