CME on Light – The Rhapsody of Light: Exploring Visual Physiology

The Department of Physiology proudly organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “Light – The Rhapsody of Light: Exploring Visual Physiology”, bringing together medical educators, clinicians, and students to deepen their understanding of the fascinating mechanisms by which light is captured, processed, and transformed into vision.

The scientific session featured an insightful lecture titled “Catching the Light – Optical Principles and Ocular Architecture”, delivered by Dr. C. Anitha Mohan, Professor & Head, Department of Physiology, Government Theni Medical College. The session explored the optical principles of the eye, ocular anatomy, and the physiological processes involved in the conversion of light into visual perception.

The programme served as an excellent platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing, and fostering interest in visual physiology among participants. Through engaging discussions and expert guidance, attendees gained valuable insights into the complexities of the visual system and its clinical relevance.
